BytDance, the parent of TikTok, has set foot in the smartphone market, launching its first flagship smartphone. The phone is named Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3 and has just launched in China.
TikTok-owner Bytedance launched its first ever smartphone. The new smartphone is called ‘Jianguo Pro 3’ and it has been launched under the brand Smartisan where Bytedance had acquired patents and employees as well. Although this isn’t the expected branded ‘TikTok phone’ it does come pre-loaded with TikTok features.
Jianguo Pro 3 smartphone is currently available only in China and it starts at CNY 2,899 (Rs 29,200 approx) for the base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The smartphone also comes with 8GB+256GB storage option which retails at CNY 3,199 (Rs 32,100 approx). There’s also a special ‘Matsutake colour’ for the Jianguo Pro 3 smartphone but there’s no TikTok branding in terms of design.

The company has introduced powerful camera features in the TikTok smartphone, the starting price of this phone in China is 2,899 yuan (about 29,000 rupees). In addition, the phone with 8GB + 256GB variants is priced at 3,199 yuan (about 32000 rupees) and 12 GB + 256 GB variants priced at 3,599 yuan (about 36000 rupees).
Features of TikTok Phone
The company has provided powerful cameras and processors. The phone has a 6.39-inch Full HD + AMOLED display, offering a Snapdragon 855+ processor and Android operating system.
The phone has up to 12 GB of RAM and storage option of up to 256 GB, besides fast data transfer there is also UFS 3.0 support. The phone works on the Smartison operating system.
The phone has four cameras
The phone has a quad (four) rear camera setup, with a 48-megapixel primary sensor along with a 13-megapixel wide-angle camera, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens and a 5-megapixel macro camera.
The phone's primary camera comes with a Sony IMX586 sensor, a 20-megapixel camera for selfie has been added to the front camera.
In the camera department, the Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3 packs a quad rear camera set-up that is highlighted by a 48-megapixel main snapper with the Sony IMX586 sensor and an f/1.75 aperture. It is assisted by a 13-megapixel wide-angle camera with a 123-degrees field of view, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom support, and a 5-megapixel macro camera that can take shots of a subject as close as 2cm. On the front is a 20-megapixel selfie camera that employs the 4-in-1 pixel binning technology to deliver brighter photos.
Connectivity options on the Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3 include 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and Wi-Fi Direct. The first phone from ByteDance's team comes equipped with a 4,000mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4+ (18W) fast charging technology and PD 3.0 as well, facilitated by a USB Type-C charger. Dimensions of the Smartisan Jianguo Pro 3 are 156.6 x 74.38 x 7.8mm and it tips the scales at 185 grams.
